Notes

(This is feature of WorkTime Professional)

WorkTime proposes Notes feature that allows you to add notes about your work to keep track of what exactly you were working on at certain period of time.
This is a very helpful feature to keep track for yourself and also to create reports for your clients/customers/mangers so they can see what you spend your time on and what you charge them for.

Each note, you add, is attached to a group of classifiers (User, Project, Activity, Workstation) and to a date (current day date) (See also WorkTime Terminology - Classifiers).

Adding notes

To add a note, select menu item Tools | Add Note in the main WorkTime menu (See Main Menu).
Or if you want to be proposed automatically each time tracking is started, stopped or classifiers are changed, setup Options General | Messages/Notes (See also Options - General).

If you add notes a few times, while working under the same classifiers (User, Project, Activity, Workstation) during the same day, you'll see all your notes for this date and classifiers set collected in the Add note screen, where you can update them.
Each time tracking is started or classifiers are changed a new empty note is issued.

Important: as soon as notes describe your work, they can be added only if tracking is working (See WorkTime Terminology - Tracking, Features - Tracking, Options - Tracking).

Editing old notes

If you need to edit an old note (for example, added one week ago), you can do it using Options screen Customize & Edit | Time (See also Options - Customize & Edit). Just find a note that you need to change and do all necessary changes.

Reports and export

In WorkTime Reports screen select Time Line report, group data by Notes and this is your report ready:

One more way to display notes is to group Time Line data by <None> and select Show Notes checkbox.

After report is generated, all data can be exported to CSV, MS Word, MS Excel and more (See also Features - Reports).
